February 08, 2010 —

Carousel Capital announced today the successful exit from its investment in AGDATA, a leading provider of outsourced database management, marketing program administration, data collection and data analysis services. The exit was completed through two separate transactions. AGDATA’s healthcare division, MedData, which provides healthcare insurance information and data solutions for hospitals, physician practices and major healthcare insurance companies, was acquired by TransUnion LLC of Chicago, Illinois. Separately, the Agdata division, which provides mission-critical strategic data solutions to agrochemical/seed and animal health industries was purchased by SFW Capital Partners, LLC, a private equity firm based in New York.

Carousel invested in AGDATA in 2006 in partnership with founder Verl Purdy. Over the course of the investment, AGDATA grew revenues and profitability through organic growth initiatives, as well as through acquisitions of complementary businesses in each of the company’s business units. Following the transactions, both Carousel and Verl Purdy have retained an interest in Agdata and Mr. Purdy will continue to serve on the Agdata Board of Directors.

Harris Williams & Co. acted as financial advisor to AGDATA in the transactions.
