Bill Hobbs joined Carousel Capital in 2002. Previously, Mr. Hobbs was a Managing Director with Wachovia Securities (formerly First Union Securities, Inc./Bowles Hollowell Conner), where he founded a group that provided investment banking services to private equity firms. Prior to that, Mr. Hobbs was with Chemical Securities, Inc. in New York, where he served in various roles, including leveraged finance, loan syndications and investment banking for Southeastern corporate clients.
Mr. Hobbs leads Carousel Capital’s investment origination efforts. In this role, he is responsible for originating, assessing and developing investment leads and relationships with companies. He also develops and maintains relationships with entrepreneurs, investment bankers, attorneys, accountants, financing providers and other sources of opportunities. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Arts and Sciences Foundation of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, The Association for Corporate Growth of Charlotte and the North Carolina Outward Bound School.
Mr. Hobbs received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University.
